I believe everything happens for a reason although we don't always know what that reason is right away. If we open our hearts and our minds, we can achieve many great things in life including true love that will last forever.
As a kid, I was always quiet and very shy. I didn’t say much, finding serenity in listening rather than voicing my own opinions. My outlet as a teen came in the form of a writing assignment in my creative writing class. Having my work read and reviewed by my peers was a long awaited breath. I wanted more. I could no longer stay stifled. A short story I wrote in high school was entered in a contest and won an award. But still, I was hesitant. Judy Blume was one of my favorite authors. Reading her books, I daydreamed of a day when I would write a full-length book. Twenty-something years later, my childhood dream became a reality. I wrote my first YA novel, It’s My Heaven.
I was most influenced by my husband, my three children, my parents, my sisters, my brother, and all the young people who I worked with over the years. They taught me to grow as a wife, as a mother, as a child, as a sister, and as a friend.
